JORDAN BRILL
Jordan Brill is a tattooer and founder of Starfolk Tattoo in Nashville, Tennessee- a forward-thinking tattoo shop specializing in the American and Japanese Traditional tattoo styles. He is best known for keeping the traditional characteristics of Americana tattooing while pushing its stylistic boundaries. Jordan grew up living between Buffalo, NY and Xiamen, China where he was exposed to many forms of art including: comics, cartoons, watercolor, and calligraphy. The readability, strength, and warm approach of these art forms continues to influence Jordan today.Jordan’s flash paintings have been featured in projects such as: The Bright and Bold Book, The Keepers of the Faith book, American Traditional Tattoo Flash, and The One-Shot Book. Jordan also continues the historically handcrafted nature of Western Tattooing by building his own tattoo machines and making his own tattoo pigments as well.Outside of tattooing, Jordan enjoys reading all manner of book, studying the Thai language, cooking, watching old Sci-Fi movies, and spending quality time with his wife Carli and his Bulldogge Porky.

MITCH HOGGARD
Mitch Hoggard is a tattooer who has spent the majority of his career in Nashville, Tennessee. After gaining a love for the craft and learning to paint when he resided in Ruston, Louisiana, he began tattooing in 2014 a few years after getting his first tattoo. Having never considered tattooing as a profession, Mitch became enthralled by it establishing one of his deepest passions. As a kid, he loved to draw anything from muscly, humanoid creatures and pocket monsters to gargoyles, ninja turtles, and the occasional lone wolf howling at the moon.
Growing up in the country, Mitch values the outdoors and has a passion for nature and adventure. He is easy-going and loves to reciprocate curiosity and wonderment. Typically, you won’t find him taking life too seriously. He’s here for a good time AND a long time.
Rooted in traditional imagery, his style expresses a ‘bright and bold’ value and a unique take on classic ideas. Mitch offers a custom interpretation of traditional designs while maintaining a certain novelty with each tattoo he creates. For Mitch, inspiration can come from all types of sources; whether it be mythologically inspired epic fantasies to classic 90’s cartoons and comedies, he finds most ideas for tattoos relatable. Mitch’s approach to tattooing reflects a lightness of mind coupled with a respect for the experience. Given the intimacy of the tattoo process, Mitch takes great care to provide a comfortable and friendly setting. Being present and accommodating is just as important to him as a great tattoo.
Beyond the shop, you may find Mitch in the woods somewhere, eating beans, cooking bones, sitting sideways, lost in the void, or just staring directly at the sun. If you want a bright, clean tattoo that lasts and can be seen across the room, Mitch is your guy!

Sasha Kazanofski
Sasha Vandal is a tattooer who grew up in Nashville and has spent much of his time deeply immersed in the city’s underground music and arts scene. A dedicated multidisciplinary artist, he has a genuine love for creating. Throughout his career, he has developed a signature style that merges bold American Traditional imagery with unconventional, eye-catching color combinations. His eclectic influences shine through in every piece while still honoring tattooing’s rich history.Sasha’s passion for tattooing began at a young age when he watched a family member’s bodysuit take shape. He would eagerly fill in the outlined sections of healed tattoos with markers, dreaming of the day he could tattoo for real. This early experience sparked his creativity and instilled a deep respect for the art. His influences span from graffiti—valued for its raw energy and cultural depth—to the concept and character art of Japanese role-playing games. Now at Starfolk, he continues to push his craft forward, surrounded by like-minded artists. When not in the shop, you’ll likely find him painting, making beats on vintage samplers, or building tattoo machines.Sasha is a laid-back, friendly guy who loves making people laugh. He believes getting a tattoo should be an enjoyable, stress-free experience, keeping the atmosphere light while maintaining a high level of professionalism. He is dedicated to bringing each client’s vision to life while ensuring the process is fun and comfortable. His attention to detail, clear communication, and commitment to quality ensure every client walks away with a tattoo they’re proud to wear.

Christian Rieben
Christian Rieben is a tattooer located in Nashville, Tennessee that specializes in American traditional with a unique illustrative twist. Enjoying folk art, science fiction, and fantasy imagery has inspired a variety of pieces that are hard to find anywhere else.
Christian’s tattooing career was inspired by his life long love of art. After years of practice as a child, he began teaching friends and family how to draw, reflecting not only his passion for art but his vast knowledge of techniques. To this day he holds the same commitment to his art, learning anything he can from his peers, with hopes to travel the world to gain even more experience and inspiration.
Knowing he wanted to be a tattooer from a young age, Christian began his official apprenticeship after spending several years in the Navy. He spent the first leg of his tattoo journey in Murfreesboro, Tennessee but has recently joined the Nashville tattoo scene in hopes of sharing his creations with a wider audience. Best known for his bold takes on classic designs, he loves to bring his personal interests to the drawing table. Elements from manga and fantasy literature, video games, and nature are all embodied in the weekly flash sheets he creates. When he is not bringing these components to life in his drawings, he is enjoying them with family and friends.
Christian believes that a tattoo appointment is about more than a good, lasting tattoo. His goal is to create a positive environment where his clients can feel safe being themselves and have a fun experience. He understands the level of trust that his clients give him and wants to reciprocate that with respect and kindness. Tattooing is magical to Christian, and sharing that magic with you is why he continues to create.

Andrew Winkler
Although not a tattooer, Andrew is a passionate enthusiast of Traditional Tattoos who acts as Starfolk's Front Desk Assistant. Andrew brings his friendly personality and dedication to helping others, making sure everyone who walks through the door feels welcome and taken care of whether artist or client! A Nashville native, Andrew stumbled into the world of traditional tattoos and quickly fell in love with the art. The rich history behind the original artists and designs captivated him, ultimately drawing him to Starfolk for its commitment to preserving the traditions of tattooing. You might see Andrew around from time to time, working the front desk and adding his own positive energy to the shop!
